Patrick Galvin, Partner
Patrick
Galvin is a dynamic public speaker and presenter whose seminars
and workshops put the power of public relations in clients’
hands. His innovative programs teach people how to build visibility
and credibility for themselves and their businesses.
Patrick's involvement in public relations dates back to childhood,
hosting San Francisco's first radio show devoted to children's issues
and working as a reporter for Youth News, a nationally broadcast radio
program. In college, he served as Chief of Staff for a San Francisco
County Supervisor and was responsible for all public relations efforts.
After graduating from business school, he was named director of sales
and marketing for a California-based filtration company with responsibility
for all public relations functions in Latin America and Canada. Before
co-founding Galvin Communications, Patrick served as President of
Galvins Business & Home Office Furniture where he created the
company's business and communications strategies and garnered significant
public relations exposure for the stores in both
regional and national media.
In addition to his client work, Patrick is an active member of
the San Francisco Young Entrepreneur's Organization, recently completing
a term as President and currently serving as Publicity Chair. He
serves on the Board of Directors at the Emeryville Chamber of Commerce.
Patrick received a BS in International Relations (Cum Laude) from
the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Washington,
D.C., and an MBA with a marketing emphasis from the American Graduate
School of International Management (Thunderbird) in Arizona. He
speaks Spanish and Portuguese.
Ellen Grosshans, Partner
Ellen
Grosshans delivers public relations services that are practical
and tactical. Combining strategic thinking and hands-on support
, Ellen uses her expertise in marketing and brand-building to identify
clients’ issues, opportunities and challenges. The result
is a customized public relations campaign that fits into overall
business objectives and benefits the bottom line.
Prior to co-founding Galvin Communications, Ellen was an Engagement
Manager for Prophet, a San Francisco-based brand consulting firm.
She oversaw engagements for clients as diverse as Allstate, British
Petroleum, Wells Fargo, Grocery Outlet, Jamba Juice, Levi Strauss
& Co., Discovery Channel (Retail), Schlumberger, the Haas School
of Business, and Sophus Berendsen. Earlier, Ellen spent seven years
in financial services, managing the international trading program
for Alpha Management in San Francisco, and working in Information
Services for Morgan Stanley in New York City.
Ellen received a BA in Economics and French (Summa Cum Laude, Phi
Beta Kappa) from Hofstra University in New York and an MBA from
the Walter A. Haas School of Business at the University of California,
Berkeley. She spent a year at the Sorbonne University in Paris and
speaks French, German and Spanish.
