Current Carpets
About the Client
Hansine Pedersen Goran, President and Designer of Current Carpets
(www.currentcarpets.com),
is one of a handful of people in the United States creating custom
hand-tufted carpets that blend the traditional values of craftsmanship
with the crisp clean lines of modern design. Using licensed Wools
of New Zealand, the highest quality of wool labeled as "Woolmark,"
Hansine's carpets are available in 84 colors, 252 shades, and 3
different pile types. Her collections feature carpets with non-traditional
shapes that are particularly well-suited for contemporary settings
and loft spaces, and carpets whose curves and lines accompany any
style from Victorian to Deco.
Hansine works with clients individually to choose the size, colors
and shape that make the best focal point and center for their living
or working space. Emphasizing service and support, she personally
handles every aspect of a client's order. As an ASID Industry Partner,
she also works with interior designers and architects around the
country. Retail prices for the carpets range from $2,500 to $6,000.
PR Strategy
Current Carpets was an undiscovered gem, and Galvin Communications
was hired to get it noticed. We assembled a complete media kit emphasizing
the artistry of Hansine's carpets, and targeted journalists at home
magazines and newspaper sections throughout the country.
Results
The San Francisco Chronicle published an in-depth, 1,000 word profile
of Hansine and her business. The piece, appearing on the front page
of the Home & Garden section, included several color photographs
of carpets from the Current Carpet collection.
ANG Newspapers (publishers of The Oakland Tribune, Alameda Times-Star,
The Daily Review, The Argus, San Ramon Valley Herald, Tri-Valley
Times, and San Mateo County Times) also ran an in-depth spotlight
piece. The article was featured prominently in the Sunday Business
section. It, too, was accompanied by a photograph of the artist
with one of her designs.
Nationally, Current Carpets has received coverage in daily newspapers
and upscale home furnishing magazines such as At Home In Memphis
and At Home in Arkansas.
